A collection of 15 solo piano “landscapes”, mixing elements of New Age, Jazz, and ethnic music, inspired by pianists like Keith Jarrett, Lyle Mays, Liz Story, and Philip Aaberg. Each piece is an improvisation based on a simple idea expounded compactly and freshly. Improvised during the fall of 2008, the album reflects the nostalgia and melancholy not only of the close of summer and the shift to browns and greys in the land and the sky, but also of the loss of our economic and environmental innocence.

I didn’t think I liked piano music very much. I was wrong! The percussive, rhythmic, movement here is fantastic. Love it loud in the car when driving. My favorites might be #1,3,8,and 15.
Jonathan continues to impress with his amazingly creative improvisations, as well as his dexterity on the piano. This is an artist to keep an eye on! I look forward to his next album.
